Biodiversity is the combination of all living things in a place. It includes birds and insects, microbes, fungi and plants, people and their pets, and even farm animals. Everyone can do something to help protect our native biodiversity whether it be planting a native plant in your garden, conserving and preserving natural resources or trapping pests such as rats, possums or stoats. Join in the fun! RSVP by January 11th to your Adult Troop Volunteer. We are limited to 500 participants total. Each participant will receive an event patch and every troop attending will receive a ''Bio Kit'' (to be defined)... Please bring a picnic lunch including a bottle of water (50cl) and a dessert.
Troop Contributions- Poster/Collage -Troops are invited to make a "Biodiversity, Changing the World" themed poster/collage, format 50x65 on backboard. - Information Stand or Activity Booth - There will be information stands and games/activity booths encouraging biodiversity. Anyone interested in tending a stand or booth please contact Dineen. You must submit a written proposal in French and English. We requests stands/booths be set up Friday. - Lend a Hand - All girls and adults interested in lending a hand please contact Dineen. - SWAPS- We are recycling our patch inventory. Each participant will receive two patches to trade upon check in. Program - Déroulement de la Journée10:00 Arrival Arrival at Jambville. - Arrivée: Arrivée sur le site de Jambville. 10:45 Guest Speaker - Fanny Héros of Alofa Tuvalu and a scientific journalist will speak about climate change and it's effects on biodiversity. - Intervenant - Fanny Héros, d'Alofa Tuvalu et journaliste scientifique, nous sensibilisera sur « les changements climatiques et ses effets sur la biodiversité». 11:30-12:30 Information Stands and Games: - NATURALIA - Sustainable Development - Quart de Poil’- Un geste pour Notre Avenir Autrement. A charter service is organized; 9 am departure Porte Maillot, 15€ per person round trip (the fee is based on filling all 50 seats and is subject to change). Please contact Dineen. to reserve your spot on the bus. Check In at 8h30 Porte Maillot in front of the Palais de Congress and Pick Up at 18h30. The bus will leave at 9am sharp! DescriptionTrain from Paris: Gare St.Lazare, direction Mantes- la –Jolie via Conflans Sainte Honorine. Get off : Meulan Hardricourt. Prearrange a pick up (additional fee) for groups only with Jambville. Driving via A15 : Once at Cergy Pontoise head on A15 for Rouen. Exit Meulan/les Mureaux. D 28 toward Meulan. In Meulan head for Seraincourt. Go through Seraincourt. Some distance after Seraincourt, turn left in front of a small house on the corner of crossroads. A sign shows direction “Jambville”.
